Making your yard "udderly" beautiful!

Life is about choices. You could have to stop on the way home from work, pick up heavy bags of fertilizer, purchase a spreader and spray equipment, and store products in your garage OR you could spend time with your family and friends.

The Longhorn team of lawn care professionals wants to put you on a 6 application per year program to handle all your fertilizer and weed control problems. It's what we do. We do it with care and attention GUARANTEED.

Lawn Care Program

Using the highest quality products available to us, our lawn care insures the best results for your lawn and landscaping. All of our lawn fertilizing applications are granular, not liquid. They are slow-release products designed to keep your lawn green.

Longhorn Fertilization

Feeding your lawn four times a year with balanced nutrients to promotes a lush, green, thick lawn with a healthy root system. Healthy turf and root systems are more resistant to disease and damage from extreme summer heat and winter cold.

Longhorn Weed Control

Applying pre-emergent three times a year prevents new weed seeds from germinating. With our Texas winds and fields surrounding us, your lawn needs protection from new weed seed blowing in. On every visit to your home, our licensed applicator will apply post emergent to any existing weeds in your lawn. This does include dalisgrass and crabgrass. These two stubborn Texas weeds are treated in the summer when temperatures are warm enough for the weed control to have the best results. We do this treatment back to back, 10 to 14 days apart, to get the results you want. Our lawn care program includes six applications each year. The program includes your fertilizer, pre-emergent and post emergent.

Shrub Program

Each season, your landscape grows and changes. All the shrubs on your property make up a valuable and growing investment, adding both value and enjoyment to your home. Each new season brings along with it insect, disease and weather challenges, which can damage or destroy the beauty and health of your landscape.

Longhorn has the experience you can trust to carefully inspect and manage the health of your landscape. We monitor and treat insect and disease activity with our shrub program. Our program also provides precisely formulated fertilizers for improved plant growth, blooms and general health.

Here is what one of our customers had to say...

"I am very satisfied with the lawn and tree/shrub service your company has provided. Our bushes were looking very poorly in the spring and your lawn tech's personal care has turned them around. Our lawn and shurbs look the best they ever have.

Thank you and please pass our appreciation on to your technician."

Sincerely, Diana L. Prokop, McKinney, Texas

Insect/Disease Control

We apply preventative maintenance to all your shrubs and trees to help protect them from fungus and insects. Our tree and shrub applications include six applications each year. Dedicated to providing the highest quality and prompt service you deserve.

Watering Suggestions - Irrigation Timer

Every landscape is different, if you have any questions please call the office. The following is a general guide and is not intended to meet every landscape's needs. Adjustments must be made for areas that do not drain well, areas that are highly shaded, and for sloped areas.

Frequency: 1 time per week for temperatures from 35-70
Helpful Hints
  • Most problems come from over-watering. Shallow frequent watering encourages roots to stay at the surface level and therefore the turf and plant materials are stressed when temperatures are extremely hot or cold.
  • Over-watering causes fertilizer products to leach from the soil too soon.
  • Over-watering causes fungus and disease problems.
  • Water early morning around 5am in summer and 7am in winter.
  • Water less often and as long as possible without having runoff. If the area is sloped set the timer to run twice a day, and still space the days apart.
  • If the area doesn't drain well, cut back on the water.
  • Call our office with any questions.
  • Always water before a freeze. Most damage is done after the freeze when the sun comes out and the plant tries to take up water from the ground and there is no moisture there.
